Rupchand Kundu works in naturalistic style, on which he has achieved an adroit skill. Beauty of nature attracts him. He sees highest manifestation of this beauty in human being, particularly in woman. Nature and woman are two of his important themes he constantly works on.
The prime agenda of his creativity is to externalize that internal transcendence. He thus transforms the ephemeral or transience into an illuminated tune of eternity. He made his BVA in Fine Arts form Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata in 1983.
This institution established in 1854, along with its sister concern Indian College of Arts & Draftsmanship, has a great tradition of art practice in academic naturalistic style. Rupchand Kundu as an artist established in the decade of 1980-s has been a sincere follower paradigm and used it to extract the beauty and inner harmony of life and nature.
